The author’s biographical note is supposed to make it pretty clear why he was led to write this book in a language almost completely foreign to his everyday world. This book is the offspring of two different states of mind; initially, in the spring of 2020, the purpose was to overcome the boresome loneliness of the confinement imposed by the widespread pandemic; and thus an argumentative essay was constructed, titled — in a rather technical style: The exact trianglature of the semicircle in the 20th century USA — and eventually uploaded, as a critical paper, on the Academia.edu internet platform.Then suddenly, last autumn, the surprising news that a pirated edition of this article was being sold in Central Europe (in Germany and Switzerland, at least) in e-book format, seemingly an auspicious omen, rang a bell: the main project was feasible.
